With almost 30 years’ experience in the antiques trade, specialising in 19th century British design, and as a Trustee of two major museum collections, Helen has sought to bring the fascinating history of the development of British porcelain and it’s parallel story of the history of tea drinking to a whole new audience.
With a passion for both good design, ecologically sound products, and the ability to adapt the wonderfully translucent nature of fine bone china, she transforms over two hundred years of British tea drinking porcelain into pure, clean burning organically scented candles. Since 2010 she has shared this passion with her wonderful client base who visit her at fairs, shows and pop up shops around the country. Here she loves nothing more than to pass on her wealth of knowledge on her subject, and today you can find many of these stories on her instagram page too, where through short videos she shares her encyclopedic knowledge off fascinating porcelain facts.
Her candles are completely ecological, she uses only vintage and antique china and 100 % pure sunflower wax with organic essential oils sourced from a physic garden in Somerset, making a unique gift that can be washed after burning and reused yet again. Her botanical sunflower wax is vegan and eco-friendly and derived from a completely sustainable source, grown on established agricultural land in Turkey and refined in the UK. Each piece of porcelain is accompanied by a brief well-researched hand written history and represents your chance to own your own piece of historic British design.
